Enjoyed Shopping Experience In the Famous Local Markets Of Kolkata
After the ending of the last financial year, I got a leave for few days from my office in Chennai. So all the colleagues decided to go for a pleasure trip to Kolkata, as most of us had not visited this famous eastern city. I was too excited with this program, due to the chance seeing a new place and the prospects of lots of enjoyments with all the friends together, including eating, shopping and sightseeing in Kolkata, about which I had heard so much earlier.
Hence, all of our air tickets were booked on the Economy Class of SpiceJet Airline, due to its easy availability and the comparatively much lower airfare. Our scheduled Chennai to Kolkata flight took off sharp at 10.20 AM in mid morning, from Chennai International Airport and it took only more than 2 hours to reach Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport. After we landed here at 12.35 PM, we headed straight to our pre-booked hotel Sapphire Suites, a 3 Star hotel in Lindsay Street, located at the heart of city.
This hotel was in close proximity to maximum tourist spots of Kolkata, which was highly beneficial for us. We were given a complimentary welcome drink, when we stepped in our booked hotel room; as well as complimentary buffet breakfast. We also loved to relax in the health club and the steam bath of this hotel. We were greatly benefitted from the travel desk of the hotel and the airport transport was also provided in return of a nominal charge. The rooms had all the required modern amenities, which made our hotel stay more enjoyable.
Satisfactory episode of travelling in SpiceJet
Though we chose SpiceJet for its low cost, all of us were satisfied with the friendly behavior and the convenient services provided by the crews of this flight. Due to being the low cost airline, there was no provision of complimentary meal; but the passengers could buy in-flight foods and drinks, by just asking the flight crews. There was also no in-flight entertainment system; though we did not need anything during this short trip.
But we were really benefitted by the online systems of this airline; due to which we could book our air tickets online, as well could check the flight status online, by providing the required information on the online form.
Pleasant shopping affair in the well known markets in Kolkata
My sisters had demanded for some good gifts from Kolkata, due to my prospect of earning handsome bonus for good performance. So we went to the nearby markets, BK Market in Elgin Road and Simpark Mall in New Market, both of which are in walking distances from our hotel. I bought some fashionable women’s fashion wear, like beautiful tops, tunics and leggings for my sisters, as well as bags of outstanding designs for other family members and friends, from the shops of BK Market.
Simpark Mall is known to be the latest addition of the ancient New Market, with an underground shopping area, where we all could buy plenty of things for ourselves and our near ones. Varieties of designer sarees of all kinds were available in the stalls of this market, which we bought as much as we could afford. We also enjoyed the dishes available in the Food Court of this market.
All of us have decided to come back to Kolkata, whenever possible again, for continuing with more shopping spree in these amazing markets.
