I love shopping in Agra because of the many shops here that offer a variety of items. Every year, I do a lot of shopping for clothes, gadgets, home décor items in this city and come back to Delhi with interesting things that did not cost a lot. This time too I decided to go to Agra for my shopping expedition.

Travel to Agra Was By the Bhopal Shatabdi (12002)

The easiest way to commute to the city, at low cost was by train. I visited the IRCTC website and looked into the Delhi to Agra trains list to find trains suitable for my convenience. There are around 117 weekly trains from Delhi to Agra but I found the Bhopal Shatabdi to be the best choice and I purchased its tickets online.

On the departure date I reached at the New Delhi Metro Station in the afternoon. The journey lasted for nearly two hours and the train finally stopped at the Agra Cantt. I left the station by cab to the hotel where accommodation had been booked for stay.

Stayed In the Grand Taj Haveli Agra

My place of stay in Agra was the majestic Taj Haveli Agra. I opted for a deluxe room, thus enjoying a grand accommodation wherein all my needs were catered. In the morning I took shower in the attached bath, which was quite stylish and modern. After enjoying the complementary breakfast, I went on to watch television and then switched on my laptop to connect to the internet using the room’s wi-fi service.

During my stay in the Taj Haveli, what I enjoyed the most was the roof top restaurant, where I could enjoy various types of cuisine such as Mughlai, Chinese, Italian and much more. After a relishing lunch, I decide to visit key shopping attractions in the city where I could purchase items that I had planned to buy.

I first visited the Taj Mahal, which was just a five minute walk from the hotel. I also visited Agra Fort, Sikandra, Fatehpur Sikhri, Metab Bagh and many more such attractive spots. As I had a great interest in carpets and marble work items, I visited a reputable store in the city for shopping.

Shopping Experience Mughal Carpet Company and Marble Handicrafts Agra

I visited the Mughal Carpet Company which offers a variety of hand woven carpets of various sizes. The intricate craftsmanship that goes into the manufacture of each of these rugs makes them wonderful, aesthetic and distinct.

They serve as the perfect home décor items and can transform a simple living room space into something that is breathtakingly beautiful. I purchased a couple of carpets, with distinct designs. The shop here also told me how I could maintain my rugs so that they last for a long while and about the high quality of their product they sold, which ensure that they were durable and long lasting.

The next place where I stopped over was Marble Handicrafts Agra, which had the most exotic marble items, inlaid with beautiful motif and designs. I purchased plates, cups, figurines and many lovely items for my home, each more beautiful than the other. Not only this but I also found that Agra has a wide array of choices when it comes to leather goods and accessories, which were really cheap and best.
